Created in 1933, the South-East has stimulated a huge number of championship teams and athletes. When it comes of sporting success, Basketball SEC opened the door to the conference for years. Indeed, SEC basketball is composed of some of the teams most Famous U.S..
The Teams Basketball SEC (which have been successful nationally) are universities comprising the following conference:
L Alabama
l Arkansas
L Auburn
L Florida
l Georgia
L Kentucky
LSU L
l Ole Miss
The Mississippi State
L South Carolina
l Tenn. - M
Tennessee L - W
The Vanderbilt
Most recently, six men of the South East team basketball conference were invited to play in the tournament NCAA 2008. SEC basketball has accumulated solid success in the national tournament for men. For example, basketball teams of the conference have reached the NCAA Sweet Sixteen for the past 19 years. It is rare for a conference intercollegiate enjoy this level of success.
Not only male basketball teams SEC knows a surprising success, but teams of women are at the top of the list nationwide as well. Five women from South-East teams basketball conference were invited to 2008 NCAA Tournament. Two of those teams reached the last four. And, in 2007 and 2008 national champion in basketball female was a team of SEC basketball - Tennessee.
In addition to the successful NCAA championship basketball program SEC also obtained a number of important issues. For example, the conference is the only one in the country to have all its teams ranked in the top 25 from Associated Press 2000. Other important issues have also been set by the SEC basketball.
As is the case in recent years, a good percentage of team basketball SEC are ranked in the top 25 of the NCAA. In addition, many players of basketball of the conference are also classified among the top collegiate players currently in the United States. (Moreover, a significant number of players of basketball SEC eventually be recruited by teams professionals to achieve their college years came to an end.)
The programs of basketball in the SEC universities conference all adhere to a statement longstanding mission:
"The purpose of the Southeastern Conference is to help its member institutions in the maintenance of intercollegiate athletic programs that are compatible with the highest standards of education and competitive sport. "
Not only athletes basketball SEC excelled on the court, but they have performed dynamically in the academic arena as well. Indeed, a good percentage of both men and teams of the Women's Conference basketball won academic and athletic recognition and honors. As the mission statement of the Conference set forth a strong commitment is made to ensure that student athletes enjoy success both field and classroom.
Analysts predict that the SEC basketball will remain at the top of the game in the future. In fact, these experts believe that the conference men's and women's teams should continue to collect top slot in the NCAA tournament well in the coming decade.
